ላኪዎች ያመነጩትን የውጭ ምንዛሪ 50 በመቶ ወዲያውኑ በመሸጥ ቀሪውን 50 በመቶ ላልተወሰነ ጊዜ ኢትዮጵያ ውስጥ ባለ አካውንታቸው ማስቀመጥ የሚችሉበት አሠራር ከነገ ጀምሮ ተግባራዊ እንደሚደረግ ተገለጸ፡፡
የኢትዮጵያ ብሔራዊ ባንክ ገዥ ማሞ ምኅረቱ እንዳሉት÷ ላኪዎች ካመነጩት የውጭ ምንዛሪ 50 በመቶውን ለባንኮች ወዲያውኑ በመሸጥ ቀሪውንም በአንድ ወር ውስጥ መሸጥ ይገደዱ ነበር።
በወቅቱ አሠራሩ በጊዜያዊነት ተግባራዊ ሲደረግ የተረጋጋ የውጭ ምንዛሪ ፍሰት እንዲኖር ከመፈለግ እንደነበርም አስታወሰዋል።
ከነገ ጀምሮ ግን ላኪዎች ያመነጩትን የውጭ ምንዛሪ 50 በመቶ ወዲያውኑ በመሸጥ ቀሪውን 50 በመቶ ላልተወሰነ ጊዜ በአካውንታቸው ማስቀመጥ ይችላሉ ማለታቸውን ኢዜአ ዘግቧል፡፡
ይህም ማለት ያመነጩትን የውጭ ምንዛሪ በአንድ ወር ውስጥ እንዲሸጡ አይገደዱም ማለት ብለዋል፡፡

It was announced that exporters can immediately sell 50 percent of the foreign currency they generate and keep the remaining 50 percent in their accounts in Ethiopia for an indefinite period of time.
According to the governor of the National Bank of Ethiopia, Mamo Mehretu, exporters were forced to sell 50 percent of the foreign currency they generate to banks immediately and sell the rest within a month.
He also recalled that when the system was implemented temporarily, it was because of the desire to have a stable flow of foreign exchange.
Starting tomorrow, exporters will be able to sell 50 percent of the foreign currency they generate immediately and keep the remaining 50 percent in their accounts indefinitely, ESA reported.
This means that they will not be forced to sell the foreign currency they have generated within a month.
